If you live in the Town of Brookhaven and have been wondering why your recycling has not been carted away on Recycle days, you may be one of the 9,000 residents who received the wrong recycling schedule.
The recycling schedules are divided up into areas north of Middle Country Road and south of Middle Country Road; somehow each got the others recycling schedules. Over 1,000 replacement schedules have been sent out. As of right now, it is up to the residents to contact the Town and request the correct schedule of trash pick-up days. You can contact the Department of Waste Management by calling 451-TOWN. The schedules are also available on the Town's website at www.brookhaven.org.
If you haven't already attached the incorrect schedule to your magnet, you could always recycle it.
