MSNBC has a story this morning about 5.5 million window coverings that are being recalled. You can read the full story here. This recall is effective immediately.
The following businesses are participating in this recall: Pottery Barn Kids; IKEA; Vertical Land, Inc.; Lewis Hyman, Inc.; Lutron Electronics Co., Inc.; and Victoria Classics. Victoria Classics Roman shades and many of Lewis Hyman's window shades were sold exclusively at Target stores.

The Window Coverings Safety Council sponsors October as Window Coverings Safety Month, which I would normally post about at the end of September. Given this recent news and recall this post is coming early.
In the event you do not know if your window coverings are among those being recalled, you can click on the left side tab for a free retro kit.

Kathy, I hadn't heard about this recall, thanks for sharing. I wonder if I have some of these blinds in my house.
Wow. I didn't know. Thanks for the heads up lovely. Will be calling you later on today. :-)
Thanks for this info, alot of people buy their window coverings from one of these sources and probably aren't aware. Stores can't keep track of who buys what. Good info. to get out!
June ~ October is normally when a general window coverings safety campaign starts, but I have never heard of a recall this large before. Seemed important enough to share.
Thanks, Carolyn!
Hi Cindy ~ Yes, those names popped out at me and I know that many people do shop at them. Hopefully they {the consumers who bought} will be aware of this recall.
Thank you Kathy-I sent this to my daughter. My grandsons have these blinds in their bedroom.
Cathy ~ Good idea. You have grandchildren??? : )
It has been sometime since we have seen you on AR
Hope all is well
